London Standsted Airport was evacuated after the discovery of a “suspicious package”.
Essex police said on Saturday they had evacuated passengers from London’s Standsted Airport and “brought them to a safe position” according to reports of a suspicious package in the security area.
A cordon has been set up and military experts will assess the package, according to the on the BBC.
Essex Police he said in a statement posted on Twitter: “We are currently at Stansted Airport due to concerns about a suspicious package in the security area.
‘A cordon has been set up.
“Passengers were evacuated from this area of the airport and transported to a safe place.
“Military explosives experts will evaluate the package.”
