Biden scratches his head when asked about possible payments to illegal migrants

FIRST ON FOX: President Biden ignores White Dox White House correspondent Fox News on Sunday about his administration’s question notified plan to pay $ 450,000 per person to illegal immigrants who were separated from their families during the Trump administration.

“Mr. President, is it true that we are going to give $ 450,000 to separate border crossings?” Doocy yelled as Biden drove up the escalator behind his press conference in Rome at the conclusion of a two-day meeting with G20 leaders.

Biden, looking toward the camera while Doocy asked the question, answered by looking away and scratching his forehead.

The Wall Street Journal reported last Thursday that the Ministries of Justice, Homeland Security, and Health and Human Services are considering paying $ 450,000 to family members who were separated after illegally crossing the border between the Trump administration.

Disbursements could amount to nearly $ 1 million per family and a total of $ 1 billion, although the Journal noted that many families would receive smaller disbursements.

That plan garnered outrage and condemnation from critics, some of whom stressed that such payments would exceed those received by some families of 9/11 victims and the Gold Star family.

The death benefit for those who have lost loved ones in military service is a one-time tax-free payment of $ 100,000. There is also the Servicemember Group (SGLI) life insurance, which is a life insurance program that amounts to a maximum of $ 400,000 and requires service members to pay into it.

House minority leader Kevin McCarthy, R-California, said the reported payments were “another way President Biden puts America last.”

“Lawyers in his own administration acknowledge that payments to illegal immigrants could be higher than those received by the families of those killed on Sept. 11,” he said. “Shameful.”
