A young actress who worked on the film “Rust“issued a statement expressing condolences to the family of the unfortunate shooting victim Halyne Hutchins.
Alec Baldwin held a gun on the set of a film that somehow went off and fired a shot that killed Hutchins and wounded directed by Joel Souza. While authorities in New Mexico continue to investigate the incident, representatives of child actress Jayda Martinez issued a statement to Fox News sharing the sympathy of her and her family for Hutchins ’loved ones and wishing Souza a speedy recovery.
“On behalf of our client and her parents to the family of Halyne Hutchins, director of photography, we wish to express our deepest condolences,” the statement said. “We are grateful to learn that director Joel Souza has been released to begin his recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in the production of ‘Rust’ and with everyone in the entertainment industry, as it affects everyone us. “

Martinez is listed on IMDB as “Kiowa Girl” on “Rust”. The Kiowa are an ancient American tribe living in the Great Plains of the United States. Eventually, however, they moved south.

A statement from Martinez representatives added her voice to a handful of the cast and team members who spoke out about the tragedy, including Baldwin.

On Saturday, more than a week after the shooting, Baldwin and his wife Hilaria spoke publicly about the event for the first time. Baldwin, 63, spoke to photographers in Vermont, where he said he works with police and talks to them every day.

The player branded Hutchins a friend and noted that the team performed well until a “horrific event” occurred.
