Prince Andrew could go on trial for sexual abuse by next fall

U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan said during a status conference Wednesday that the pandemic makes it difficult to set an exact trial date because of problems with the safe placement of juries.

An example involves a woman by name Virginia Giuffre, who claims to have been trafficked Jeffrey Epstein and forced to have sex with friends, including the prince.

Giuffre claimed that the attacks took place in London, New York and the US Virgin Islands – and that Andrew was aware that she was 17 years old when the alleged incidents began.

V proposal for rejection filed Oct. 29, Andrew’s attorney said he “unequivocally denies Giuffre’s false accusations against him.”

The case could involve 16 to 24 witnesses dismissed by both sides, including some British nationals, attorney David Boies, representing Giuffre, and attorney Andrew Brettler, representing the prince, told a news conference Wednesday.

Giuffre’s lawyers are expected to respond to Andrew’s motion for dismissal by November 29, and Andrew’s lawyers can respond by December 13.
