Just as the yo-yo goes up and down, the yo-yo diet is a cycle of losing weight, gaining and then losing again! And it’s not good!
Ythe o-yo toy rotates up and down quickly, leaving no one genuine. It’s fascinating to watch the spin! But when the rotation stops, your eyes spin. Yo-yo diet is almost a bad word in the present times, where awareness of healthy eating and the knowledge that accompanies it is not uncommon. But the human mind is like that. A game of the devil that drives away any attempt at logic when the urgent need to achieve a goal arises.
The concept of diet
You may have had health or weight problems that have worsened over time, but you may feel a desperate need to build Rome in one day when it comes to optimizing your weight scale. And then you make all the wrong decisions. Why? Because you’re in a hurry. You overestimate human endurance, you overestimate human ability to control, you believe you will never need a break from a healthy diet, and you set goals, while remembering that illusion.
Fashionable diets and fast diets are appealing – they promise instant results, just like instant noodles. But both are without any long-term health benefits. Both actually promise long-term weaknesses.
Diets in themselves are not wrong. They provide a bridge that translates endangered eating practices into healthy eating routines. However, they can go wrong if they are not done properly and have no ultimate purpose. As in the case of diets that cause problems in their maintenance – which either destroy calories that are much lower than your body’s needs, or advocate the excretion of certain macronutrients without knowing the type of body. Or diets that make you mistaken for a mouse because of your eating skills, or leave you staring awkwardly at delicious piles of food you can’t eat. Or diets that preach water instead of food and fast with a good breakfast.
But do such diets give good results? Yes, they have. Initially, they give you results in losing weight. But remember one golden rule – what you do to lose weight is at least 70 percent of what you will need to do to lose weight. So, under this rule, the question you need to ask yourself with any diet you choose to follow is, “Can I endure this for a period of time?” or “Am I willing to take the effort to follow this hard diet and am I also willing to take a big risk of going back to where I started in case I can’t stand it?”
What is a yo-yo diet?
Yo-yo diet where you follow a diet – you lose something and then gain. And when you know that “gain something” runs against “gain a lot more”, set yourself another diet and lose some peace of mind and thank god some weight too! Of course, if you want to restore peace, you also need to regain weight. No offense. The story goes on and is familiar.

Besides, for obvious reasons, why is a yo-yo diet harmful?
- When you suddenly lose weight, you lose muscle, tomorrow, when you get back, it unfortunately does not come back as a lost muscle, but as fat. You have now returned to your original weight, but with a higher percentage of fat and poorer body tone.
- Because you have lost muscle and now gained more fat, your body slows down and metabolism is a bitch. Therefore, the next time you want to lose weight, it becomes harder even with heavy diets in the driver’s seat.
- You completely give up these fraudulent meals. This is a common issue in most fashion diets. However, once you have stopped dieting, your body has now forgotten to metabolize large portions of rich food and only a few happy meals can endlessly anger your scales with no room to calm down.
- Fashion diets rarely take your health into account or are tailored to your body type. In the end, it can do more harm than good – in most cases it affects your digestive system, your sense of efficiency, your energy, your mood and your appearance. None of them for good.
Remember – any eating system that gives you results too quickly will also take away those results before you have a chance to “catch”.

Finally, the truth is that this phenomenon alone is at odds with your ultimate goals of holistic well-being. This rarely affects your long-term health. Instead, it retains the vapors emanating from your ears and making a dent in your otherwise happy personality.
