Thousands of us have discovered a love of indoor gardening that seems to have been driven by social media-driven design trends and, as many experts suggest, a newly discovered millennial desire for something to nurture.

But keeping our plants alive is not as easy as it seems. In fact, Ian Drummond, creative director at Indoor Garden Design, an award-winning interior designer and RHS Chelsea Flower Show gold medalist, has written a book on the subject, At home with plants, which deals with houseplants and the practicality of caring for them.
