Steven Gerrard has vowed to go “all in” to Aston Villa after urging fans and celebrities to ignore the noise over his Liverpool Inheritance.

Anfield legend Gerrard is back in the game Premier League after signing three and a half year terms as head of the Villa after leaving the Rangers.

The deal ties him to Villa Park until 2024, when Jurgen Klopp’s contract with his old club Liverpool expires.

Various former Reds, such as John Barnes, have suggested that Gerrard use Villa as a springboard back to Anfield.

Gerrard was supposed to take Villa to Liverpool on December 11, but he promised his full commitment to his new club.

The former 41-year-old Reds captain, who won the Champions League, said: “I don’t think I or anyone else will be able to control the noise.

“It simply came to our notice then.

“It’s an important opportunity to go to Anfield and win and try to score the most points.

“That’s the attitude and mindset we’re going to have in every game.

“I want to win every game.

“Now my priority and focus and everything I will give every day will be for Aston Villa.

“One thing I can provide to the fans and all the staff and players here is that when I commit to something, I’m all for it.”

Villa turned to Gerrard after five consecutive defeats by Dean Smith cost the job.

The billionaire club owners are despairing of success after spending more than £ 200 million net since buying the club in 2018.

Gerrard explained that this would be one of his first tasks to tackle Villa’s weaknesses Brighton on Saturday on a visit.
