Alcohol is said to have been the cause of a fatal accident in which four family members died, leaving the boy orphaned while on their way to a trip to the Grand Canyon in the US.
The young boy was left an orphan after his entire immediate family died in a tragic accident in the US.
4-year-old Julian Montano was the only survivor after his parents, Brittney and Tony, 29, older sister Marianna, 9, and older brother Antonio, 5, died in an accident en route to the Grand Canyon.
The boy was left with extensive injuries such as a broken femur, broken feet, a broken rib and some cerebral hemorrhage, but is expected to fully recover.
Julian’s uncle Anthony Gonzalez set up the GoFundMe site to raise some money for the young boy.
He wrote: “After that, we will no longer be the same and our family is desperately trying to stay strong for Julian. We have to bury four loved ones who were taken away from us too quickly, so Julian has somewhere to visit his mother, father and siblings.
A California Highway Patrol said no one was charged in the crash.
The sergeant said alcohol may have been the main cause of the crash, but is awaiting confirmation.
Two others who were the drivers of two separate cars, including one that crashed into the Montana family, were also injured in the crash.
Anthony Gonzalez said the family is struggling with the huge loss of four family members.
