Speaking of menus, members can now scroll through departments, services, membership information, and other topics in a network that contains small graphics instead of a long list. Galanti said the updates are an improvement as all the top departments are easily recognizable – such as a photo center, grocery store, travel and optics.
In the October issue Costco connection magazine, the chain said the new feature, which will be available soon, is access to in-app storage certificates, and Galanti confirmed this in a earnings call. It seems that Costco members will no longer have to worry about losing their account.
The Costco Anywhere Card allows members to receive a 4% refund for in-store gas, a 3% refund for restaurant and travel purchases worldwide, a 2% refund for in-store and online purchases, and a 1% refund for everything else. Members can now link their cards in the Costco app.
“It can now be linked to a digital membership card and can be used for payment,” Galanti said.
Gone are the days when he needed a computer to sign up for online orders. The app has even more access to member accounts and tracking information.
“Our members can now much more easily relocate e-com deliveries to the U.S. and Canada,” Galanti revealed. “The same goes for the rescheduling of pick-ups and deliveries in the first half of the new upcoming new calendar year.”
With a few clicks of the app, members will be able to see what’s available in nearby repositories thanks to “better labeling of fulfillment methods.” This is a big step and one member has been asking for it for some time.
