Strict: AJ Odudu doubts the final as he admits the injury is ‘bad’
Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Odudu she admitted that her injury was “severe”, which cast doubt on her performance in the show’s finale.
The presenter and her professional partner Kai Widdrington are still hoping to head to the dance floor this Saturday and face off against Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice and John Whaite and Johannes Radebe in hopes of lifting the Glitterball Cup.
But AJ has raised more doubts about her qualifying for the finals – which is just over 24 hours away – as she reappeared on crutches on Friday morning in exclusive images she shared with The Mirror.
In the footage, AJ can be seen struggling as he uses crutches to move.
When asked about her injury, AJ admits she was “bad” when she crashed into the car. Her foot is now in a much bigger support than before and there is a big worry that she may not be able to dance tomorrow.
AJ was looking tense as she tried to walk with crutches to and from the car in the pictures she shared with the Daily Mirror.
The presenter was in tears when she previously revealed a “traumatic injury”.
“I’m offended because I suffered an injury, I don’t know when it happened, but I’m basically having joint problems, I’ve suffered some traumatic ligament injuries, there’s a lot of inflammation,” she said when she spoke earlier this week.
“I can’t pinpoint exactly when this happened during training. We actually felt very positive after training on Monday. I felt fine. But the pain came on so quickly and acutely that I actually vomited.”
AJ is desperate to perform, but fans are worried if she gets the chance.
“I can’t stand on my right leg and I can’t get up without crutches and I’m very upset, sorry,” she said.
“I’m excited because we were so excited on Monday, we have three amazing dances that we really, really want to play. I know I’m excited, but I’m really hopeful and I’m surrounded by a really great medical team who are doing their best. I can do my best to get me back on my feet. “
Judges Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel-Horwood backed AJ ahead of the final and hope she manages to get to the dance floor during Saturday’s final BBC one.
