The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have posted a candid photo of them wishing their companions a happy new year

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge posted a candid, invisible photo on Friday night, in which they wished their followers a happy New Year on Twitter.

The endearing image, taken by London photographer Alex Bramall, shows the couple clasping hands in their vehicle ahead of the September premiere of James Bond, both shining from ear to ear.

The duke is dressed in a black tuxedo with a bow tie, and the duchess in a decorated gold cloak.

Duke and Duchess reduce their Christmas plans this year, decided not to go to Sandringham and instead stayed in Norfolk, where they were joined by members of the Middleton family.

The couple welcomed in the busy year of the royal family, in which the queen is supposed to celebrate her platinum jubilee.
