‘You get the email, don’t you?’ Ladies Laura said.
“And you should have responded to that email, but neither of us actually responded to that email.”
Jason then added with a laugh, “We swapped the date because I got a parking penalty at the same time and I had to pay the parking fee before the 14th … So we got a little confused with the dates of our responses.”
The couple received knighthood and women’s titles after succeeding at the Tokyo Olympics

Jason joked that they have finally confirmed their participation as they do not want the Queen or the Prime Minister to wait
“We had a phone call – it was a ridiculous phone call,” he said.
The lady in the end was very kind and said, “Can you let us know before the weekend because we need to tell the Prime Minister and the Queen about it?”
‘I thought, well, I better not let them wait!’
Despite the mix, Laura said it was a ‘childhood dream’ to be recognized for their hard work on the track.
“Every time we step on the track, it’s that we’re trying to win a medal,” she said.
‘You never strive for any other recognition, but when you get it, it just shows that people appreciate the hard work you put in on the track.
‘It’s an amazing feeling that we’re recognized for that. You never think in your childhood dreams that you will be a lady or a gentleman. ‘
