Emmerdale’s Liam Cavanagh was seeking revenge on ITV soap on Thursday night when he learned that Meena Jutla had murdered his teenage daughter Leanna.
The character wowed fans when he attacked Meeno, and it seemed as if he was the one to let her go.
Soon, however, he was in turmoil when Vinny Dingle and Manpreet Sharma told him of all the people Meena had killed, including Leanna.
Liam walked back to the barn with a menacing expression on his face as Manpreet asked him to leave her sister with the police.
As he entered, he yelled at her after noticing she was no longer on the ground, and he assumed she was hiding.
But he soon spotted an opening in the barn wall through which she had apparently escaped, and found that she had made a runner.
From wanting to stop her to revenge, he soon chased her through the woods and warned he would kill her.
He shouted, “Meena. Look me in the eye and tell me what you did to my daughter. You’re a dead woman, can you hear me?”
Meena was panicking at first before deciding to kill him as she picked up a large rock and headed towards it.
Still, she was stopped when she went to claim another victim, when she saw police spotting them in the distance – or at least they spotted Liam.
Meeni managed to make a disappearance and eventually managed to escape from the area thanks to a truck driver named Tommy.
But could the showdown in the woods set the stage for a later reunion, and did he tease that Liam would be the one to let her go over time?
After all, the story would cover the whole circle, as his daughter Leanna was the first victim in the village last July.
Viewers are now predicting that Meena will be back soon, and that Liam will try to kill her when he does – or maybe make sure the police catch her.
Either way, fans have Liam back, whatever she chooses, and look forward to knocking her out during Thursday’s first episode.
Emmerdale airs on Sundays at 7pm on ITV, with an additional episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
