The Insulate Britain activist “will not return to the roads after imprisonment

McKechnie was among nine activists in the group who were jailed in November for violating an order to block the M25.

He served half of his three-month sentence and was released along with fellow activist Ana Heyatawin.

The activist invited people “to go to the Insulate Britain website and go every Sunday at 4pm to one of our conversations called‘ our responsibilities at this time ’.

“It will tell you what’s going on and how to get involved,” he told Big Issue magazine.

An Insulate Britain spokesman said “as far as they know”, “they have not heard that Insulate Britain supporters would not return to the roads” and that “the campaign is ongoing until the government issues an important statement to continue isolating British homes that leave.
