Both spouses died in a three-car car accident near their home.

Roger, 76, and Christine Barton, 75, were fatally injured crash near the small village of Selborne in Hampshire, where they live and were pronounced dead at the scene.

The couple had three children and were “very adored” grandparents.

Police were called to the road near Alton at 3:23 p.m., where the crash happened on Friday, Jan. 7, while driving on B3006.

Their family said: “Roger and Christine Barton have lived very happily in Selborn for the last 30 years.

“They were wonderful caring parents Robin, Christine and Sophie and very adored grandparents to Freddie, Matilda and Avi.

“We are especially grateful to all the emergency staff for their time, professionalism and respect, which we have shown to our parents in a very demanding situation for them.”

Police in Hampshire are investigating an accident involving a silver Mazda 2 Tamura, a blue volkswagen golf and a blue volkswagen tiguan para.

Detective Sergeant Mark Furse said: “An investigation into this tragic incident, in which two people unfortunately lost their lives, is ongoing and investigations are underway to establish the circumstances.

“We’d like to hear from everyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or the moments that led to it.”
