Trying to brush your toddler’s teeth before bed can be a miserable and pointless task, but help is at your fingertips.

A British company has designed a vibrating toothpaste for gums and a strawberry toothpaste that they say cleans them without tears or rage.

Wiggle, which costs £ 39.99, is designed for children aged two and over. The toothpaste is injected into two silicone molds that fit snugly over the upper and lower teeth and then vibrate for 60 seconds.

Toby Brittan of Whites Beaconsfield, which makes Wiggle, said: “Not only do parents find it difficult to prepare their children to brush their teeth, they don’t brush their teeth properly.

“After almost a year of research and development, we are absolutely happy to have created a product that removes the stress of brushing parents and makes it fun for children.

“Our fun alternative to a standard toothbrush cleans every tooth at a 360-degree angle.”

His brother Ollie said: “We believe that brushing our teeth has made it a fun and enjoyable activity, something that children can look forward to every morning and evening.”

Dr Ali Hussain, a dentist, said it “changed the games” and added: “As a parent, I know the stress of trying to encourage your toddler to brush his teeth, and that’s the answer.

“Not only is Wiggle teeth cleaning a fun activity, but it also cleans teeth more effectively,” he said.

All of this assumes that parents don’t have to rugby their children to get on the floor to get a gum shield in their mouth.
