The forecast is worse if you take into account AMD chip manufacturer comments – which provides components for both consoles – and says demand for parts will exceed supply for at least another year.

Where to Buy Xbox X Series in the UK

Since the Christmas rush, the supply of Xbox X-Series consoles has slowed, but is at least consistent. New stocks were occasional, fresh console series are usually sold out in less than five minutes. Some retailers, most notably Currys, had more stock than others.

Knowing which retailers you should check with first can help you get it when it appears, so we’ve put together a shortlist of the most likely places to buy the Xbox series X.

Game – When available, Game is one of three retailers selling the Xbox through the Xbox All Access pay-as-you-go scheme. This scheme was last made available on 21 December. Consoles are occasionally available in stores in various branches of the game, so you should check for updates at your local store on a regular basis.

Amazon – The retailer last replenished Xbox X-Series stock on January 4, although the offer was so limited that the console was only on sale for about two minutes. While Amazon limits Sony ‘s next – generation console sales to Prime customers, the Xbox does not have such protection. As such, it is exposed to automated bots and unscrupulous resellers and sells out in an instant.

Make sure you’re signed in to your Amazon account and make sure your payment and shipping information is up to date. If you haven’t already, sign up for a 3-day trial of Amazon Prime in case the Xbox X series is available to members only.

Microsoft Store – The standard Xbox X series was last available on December 21st. As always, the consoles are recorded in minutes, so you need to be fast.

Currys – The Xbox series X was last in stock on December 22nd. Once in stock, we advise you to add the console to your wish list and try to complete your purchase via the Currys app.

Argos – The retailer last replenished stocks on December 21, but only in some stores. Again, the best way to check with the console is to add it to your wish list and press the buy button in the Argos app.

Toys Smyths – Smyths currently has no consoles in stock when we update this article in mid-January. However, they occasionally land in small numbers at Smyths retail stores. To find out if your local branch has stock, enter your zip code on the Xbox X-Series product page. Smyths Toys is one of three retailers that also have Xbox All Access in stock.

AO – The Xbox X series was last in stock on December 30 as part of the package. The package included a charging station, an additional controller and wireless gaming headphones. Packages usually stay in stock longer, as they are slightly more expensive and less attractive to scalpers, as the included accessories devour their potential profits.

Box – The Xbox X series was in stock at Box on December 14th. The retailer keeps a ballot for customers to register their interest and have the option to be randomly selected to purchase the console. When it is open, you can register to vote here. The seller is expected to launch similar ballots when more stock arrives.

very – The new Xbox X series was in stock on December 14 when it went on sale along with the PlayStation 5. Customers were able to choose from one of many optional packages, including a three-month Game Pass and an optional controller.

Simplygames – The Xbox X series was in stock on November 30, but sold out within hours. Simplygames sells the console only as part of a custom package put together by the retailer, making it more expensive than other stores. The package usually includes an additional controller, a three-month Game Pass, gaming headphones and a few games.

EE – The telephone company currently has the Xbox series X in stock from mid-January. With EE, you can spread the cost of the Xbox X series over the life of your EE contract by choosing “add to plan” at the EE Shop. In addition to your usual phone contract, you pay £ 45 a month for 11 months with an upfront cost of £ 10.

Asda – The retailer’s online store had the Xbox series X in stock on November 9th. However, from mid-January, the console will be available online at Asda via Xbox All Access.

John Lewis & Partners – New stocks appeared briefly on 21 December and were sold out in a very short time. An online retailer usually adds new items to the site in the early hours of the morning – around 7am to set the alarm.

How much does an Xbox X series cost?

The Xbox series X will cost £ 449. There’s also the Xbox All Access program, where you pay nothing in advance and get an Xbox X-Series console and a 24-month Game Pass Ultimate for £ 28.99 a month. Keep the console at the end of the 24-month period.

The all-digital Xbox S series console costs £ 249 and is more often in stock than the more powerful Xbox X series. The Xbox S series is also available via Xbox All Access for £ 20.99 a month.

The price of the Xbox X series compared to the price of the PlayStation 5

Both the Xbox series X and the PlayStation 5 have the same price of £ 449. The digital edition of the PlayStation 5 (which has no disk drive) costs £ 349, compared to the all-digital Xbox S series, which is cheaper than its competitor at £ 249.

Comparing the two cheaper models is difficult, as neither has a disk drive, but they are not equivalent. The digital edition of the PlayStation 5 is just as powerful as the standard PlayStation 5 – it simply doesn’t have a disk drive – while the Xbox S series is slightly lower in performance than the Xbox X series with higher specs.

Is the Xbox one dead?

No. It’s true that the Xbox one sold poorly compared to Sony’s PlayStation 4 console, but in many ways the Xbox X series represents a shift in the way Microsoft views the traditional console cycle. Instead of thinking about generations and hardware, the company is now focusing on providing constant access to games as a subscription service, much like Netflix or Spotify works.

Pass for the game is Microsoft ‘s on – demand gaming platform that gives players access to more than 100 full games for a monthly subscription. Microsoft is investing heavily in its subscription offerings and attracting major game publishers like Bethesda to strengthen its title library and attract players away from Sony’s competing PlayStation Now service.

Even the latest games on the Game Pass are designed to be compatible with previous consoles and next-generation consoles, so that over time, owning the latest hardware becomes less important to most gamers. Older generations of the Xbox are expected to avoid the dump for some time to come.
