Chelsea players warm up before the start

Chelsea go v Manchester City for Saturday early Premier League in the beginning because they know they really need a win to open the title match wide. Pep Guardiola’s team has been relentless in the league lately and has created a 10-point advantage between them and the Blues, so there is very little pressure on City to prove themselves to win.

Still, we could really take advantage of our dominance and make a point over last year Champions League the end result was a one-off if they took over the match from Thomas Tuchel’s team and won to further increase their lead at the top.

In the middle of the week, Chelsea won the Carabao Cup semi-final against Tottenham to reserve a place at Wembley and wait for Liverpool or Arsenal. City, however, had more than a week to recover from the FA Cup win in the third round over Swindon. They have won seven consecutive victories in all competitions and 14 of the last 15, which is a phenomenal form that makes them look forward to another league title. Man City v. Chelsea: Tuchel on Kante and Kovacic

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel spoke about the importance of Mateo Kovačic and N’Golo Kante in the starting eight and how he and Jorginho are encouraging the rest of the team to get better. He said:

If you have players like Mateo [Kovacic] in N’Golo [Kante], and share your work with Jorginho at the highest level in the middle of the field, then you miss the core of your team.

“They’re so important in the way they come to training, how everyone pushes and how positive they are. The key players, the top, the top players, behave the same every day. Whether they have to rest one game, have personal differences, or have to fight, their experience and attitude is right. They know what it takes to consistently overdo it.

“Everything is being pushed to the border because they are being pushed to the border all the time. NG does it without words. He does this by example and makes sure everyone sees what the benchmark is. Kova does this with words and attitude and a lot of empathy. There are many more. ”

“Of course, every player wants to play as much as possible, but what I’ve learned over the last few months is that I’m focused on my work, that I’m at peace in my mind, and that helps me a lot. I just give everything I can and take the opportunity when I have the chance. I’m in such a mood and I think I’m doing well now, I’m helping the team and I’m very happy about that.

“I’ve been waiting a long time for this moment to play, so I think I’m ready to take the opportunity. I was ready, that’s important. When you drop out of the starting XI for a while, you’re on the bench and ready to go, you feel the atmosphere and you want to be there on the court, so I was ready to go. ”

That’s exciting. I think you always want to play in the biggest games. We’ve had so many battles over the years where we’ve won, and they’ve won a few games in the Premier League and the Champions League.

“You always want to be on top and that’s what we want to do. It’s a big game. They’ve been playing very well lately. I saw the Liverpool game (2-2 Premier League draw) and a bit of Tottenham’s first game (Carabao Cup 2-0 win), so they were in good rhythm.

“I expect them to give us a big test.”
