In 2022, many of us continue to work from home as companies maintain a flexible working relationship. So the way of thinking about our home workspaces have changed.
A kitchen table or a small desk pressed against a spare bed was once fine when working in pajamas was a novelty, but since many may never return fully to the office, adaptation to flexible work needs to be done. They are people looking for solutions in the long runin terms of increasing productivity and the way we feel in our homes.
A survey by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in 2020 showed that 17 percent of homeowners wanted to create an office space that would support constant work from home. The question is how to create a peaceful space that will allow us to separate home life from work life, as many want to permanently adapt to this new dynamic of life between work and home.
Andy Baxter, MD at Labyrinth he says the company has discovered “a huge demand for versatile garden pieces that operate both outdoors and in a remodeled indoor shed.” He adds that the furniture can be used regardless of unpredictable British weather and recommends “something like a high-backed chair and pedestal, perfect for more relaxed work from home and will easily work outdoors as well.”
“If you need a change of scenery from your usual home office or desk, you may want to consider a recliner or‘ under ’chair,” Baxter says. “This will provide shade from the shining sun, but is a more comfortable solution than the typical table and chair layout.”
Whether you live alone, with a partner or in a shared house, creating a unique workspace – if you switch to a continuous approach to flexible work in your company – will guarantee separate living and working space which in turn will benefit our work productivity and mental well-being.
So, if you are thinking of renovating your home in 2022, read on for some inspiration.
