Tom Newton Dunn, head of Times Radio, will lead the news program, while Kate McCann joins the channel as a political editor at Sky News.

TalkTV will also be broadcast on radio via TalkRadio News UK, while live radio broadcasts hosted by Julia Hartley-Brewer, Mike Graham and Jeremy Kyle will be broadcast on the newly created television station.

Scott Taunton, head of TalkTV, said: “TalkTV will be a new voice for viewers interested in open opinions and expert insights into news and current affairs.

“We have a range of new talent who will bring compelling new shows to the screen every weekday, along with journalists from across the UK who have expertise in all genres.

“Our existing professional talent at TalkRadio already has followers and we will bring these popular and informed discussions about news and current affairs closer to a wider audience.”

Mr Morgan joined forces with the media mogul shortly after he left filming Good Morning Britain, and said he did not believe the Duchess of Sussex when she said in her television interview with Oprah Winfrey that she had suicidal thoughts.

He received an extensive contract with News Corp., owner of News UK, which includes a column in the Sun and New York Post, a book with HarperCollins, and contributions to Fox News.

That means he is rejoining Murdoch’s group 26 years after he left the editorial position at News of the World.

Mr Murdoch then allegedly said of Mr Morgan that he had “surpassed the young man” by invading the privacy of Victoria Lockwood, then Earl Spencer’s wife.
