Bruce Willis and his wife have sold $ 65 million in real estate over the past four years as the beloved actor sought to simplify his life amid deteriorating health.
Willis, 67, has been diagnosed with aphasia of a degenerative brain condition, his family said Wednesday, and is drawing the curtain on his legendary 44-year Hollywood career.
It is not clear when Willis was first diagnosed with this condition, which affects speech and comprehension.
But since 2018, the much-loved player – worth an estimated $ 250 million – has dramatically reduced his real estate portfolio.

In January 2018, Willis launched his penthouse in Manhattan, which sold for $ 18 million in one week.
“It’s time to cut back,” their agent, Ann Cutbill Lenane of Douglas Elliman, said at the time.
The six-bedroom, 6,000-square-foot cooperative at 271 Central Park West, which was purchased in 2015 for $ 17 million, boasted 150 feet of Central Park facade.
Divided into two floors, it was previously owned by Wesley Edens, part owner of the Milwaukee Bucks.
The upper level had an extensive kitchen and dining area, while the lower floor had five large bedrooms, including the master suite.
The master bedroom has two wardrobes, a walk-in closet with a built-in sink and a private bathroom, similar to a spa.
The duplex was sold to financier Jeffrey Alan Keswin.
Idaho estate worth $ 5 million
Later that year, in October, Willis then sold his Idaho estate near the historic, popular Sun Valley celebrity ski resort.
In October 2018, Willis sold his 20-acre lake ranch near Hailey, Idaho, for $ 5 million.
The actor is pictured filming his latest film Paradise City. The film reunited Willis with John Travolta for the first time since Pulp Fiction in 1994.
Sun Valley attracted Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable and Ernest Hemingway – who loved the area so much that he bought a house there in Ketchum.
The current homeowners are Arnold Schwarzenegger, Clint Eastwood, Jamie Lee Curtis, Tom Hanks and Justin Timberlake.
Born in Germany but raised in New Jersey, Willis has a long history in Idaho.
The actor and his ex-wife Demi Moore moved to Hailey in 1988 to lift their family away from the Hollywood spotlight.
In 1994, Willis began buying property on Hailey Main Street under the name IxNay Investment Trust.
In addition to his own home, the actor also bought vacant land, a pizza bar, a bar, a movie theater and another house for Moore to exhibit her extensive collection of dolls.
Moore, who was married to Willis from 1987 to 1998, still owns a house in the area. She and Willis went on a pandemic at the house with their daughters Rumer, 33; Scout, 30; and Tallulah, 28 – plus Heming and their two young daughters, Mabel, 10, and Evelyn, 7.

Willis ’20-acre lakeside ranch near Hailey was first sold in 2011 for $ 15 million and then again available in 2016 for the same price.
It was finally sold in October 2018 for $ 5 million – which was still the largest housing sale in the Hailey area.
The 8,400-square-foot house was completely renovated by Willis in 2003 and currently has six bedrooms, a guest house and a gym. Willis also added several streams and ponds to the property, along with a heated pool with water slides, waterfalls and a swing.
$ 27 million Turks and Caicos withdraw
A year later, in August 2019, Willis decided to separate from his beloved Caribbean retreat in Turks and Caicos, where he married Heming in 2009.
The 13,500-square-foot estate was located at COMO Parrot Cay Resort, and Willis ’neighbors were Donna Karan and Keith Richards.
The property was sold for $ 27 million – just under the price of $ 27.5 million for the most expensive piece of property on the island, a nearby home known as Oliver’s Cove, which was sold in 2016.
Willis bought 7.37 acres along the coast in 2000 and completed an Asia-inspired complex in 2004.

It consists of a main house with five bedrooms, a yoga pavilion and two guest halls with three bedrooms each.
The couple renewed their vows in the house just before putting it on the market.
“We have made so many beautiful memories on the island in the last 20 years,” they said in a statement at the time Architectural abstract.
‘There we fell in love and got married, enjoyed two childhood months on Cay and it was on our beach that we renewed our vows.’
In October 2021, they sold their last remaining plot on Parrot Cay – an empty plot that cost $ 6 million.
A mansion in Westchester County worth $ 7.66 million
The last property to go on an epic sale was Willis Mansion in Westchester County, north of New York City.

It is located on 22 acres and overlooks the Croton Reservoir; neighbors were Martha Stewart, Ralph Lauren and Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Michael Douglas.
Willis and Heming bought the property for $ 12 million in 2014 and shared time between Westchester and their Manhattan apartment.
