George of Brighton was sentenced to 13 and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted murder and possession of an insulting weapon in a public place. When she was arrested, police found the “sinister” contents of the bags she had prepared.

Judge Christine Henderson said of George’s conviction: “From everything I’ve read in this case, you seem to have been fixed and taken for revenge because you thought the victim was seen with other women.

“You did your best to plan your attack. Clearly, you knew it was wrong, and your planning involved avoiding responsibility and detection.”

Detective Superintendent Jon Hull of Sussex Police said: “It was a cold, premeditated plan to kidnap, torture and murder an innocent man with clear steps to cover up the crime.

“I have no doubt that George would have followed her very disruptive to-do list if she had not been the victim who beat her and the quick response of our police officers to bring her into custody.”

Mr. Yiosese and George met when she was 17 and he was studying at the University of Brighton. He graduated with a first class degree and worked as a railway engineer in London.

Graeme Wilson said in his defense that there was an “imbalance” in their relationship and that George was socially isolated and had a difficult home life.
