Not all product comparisons trigger Google’s product rating algorithm

Alan Kent of Google was asked if posting product comparisons, such as comparing one product to another, “count as ratings in the eyes of Google and, more importantly, updates of product reviews?” Alan didn’t necessarily send.

Alan Kent explained further Twitter that “you can certainly compare product ratings,” “but only if you say ‘X against Y’ in the title will probably not be considered a legitimate rating,” he added.

So it all depends on the amount of content, how the content is structured and whether we can really call it product evaluation or not.

Google did the basics product comparisons in search for a long time here and there tried become more sophisticated guides for customers in searching.
