Whether you want to make this delicious cake with Nutella Easter or it’s simply a good recipe you have on hand when you are craving for a sweet treatwrite down this recipe to get you ready anyway.
The cake is fluffy, light sponge, dark and chocolate but with subtle madness. It’s not too sweet either – you’d be happy to treat yourself to a few slices for breakfast. The glaze, on the other hand, is a buttery, sweet, chocolate delight. It turns the cake into a festive dessert that is wonderfully perishable.

Ingridients
For the cake
- 200 g salted butter, softened
- 200 g of sugar
- 200 g Nutella
- 120 g of plain yogurt
- 3 eggs
- 200 g of self-rising flour
- 40 g cocoa powder
For the butter cream glaze
- 150 g salted butter, softened
- 300 g powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons Nutella
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180C / 160C / gas 4. Grease a 24 cm spring cake tin; line with baking paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk the butter and sugar until smooth, then add the Nutella and beat again to combine well. Slowly stir in the yogurt and eggs. Stir in flour and cocoa powder, one tablespoon at a time and beat all the time until you get a smooth mass.
- Spoon the dough into the baking pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, then cover with foil and bake for 30-35 minutes until the top of the cake comes back when you gently press it with your fingers and the knife comes out. clean when inserted in the middle. Take the cake out of the mold and let it cool on the rack before laying it.
- To prepare the glaze with an electric mixer, mix the butter and powdered sugar to make it pale and fluffy, then add the Nutella with a spoon and beat until smooth. Ice the whole cake and decorate with some edible fresh flowers (if desired) to serve.
