The show provides a strong foundation for Rupert Murdoch’s rebellious television channel that needs to be upgraded when it tries to distract the BBC with its American-style hard news brand.
Mr Morgan plans to continue his explosive exclusive interview with the former US President tonight as Donald is expected to discuss how happy the Queen was to meet him in office.
The tense meeting, which aired on television Monday night, included Trump telling Morgan he believed he was “much more honest” than he was.
“I don’t think you’re real,” he added. “I think I’m a much more honest person in most ways.”
Mr. Morgan answered with the question, “Why am I not real?” to which Mr. Trump replied, “We’re not going to get into this, let’s end the interview.”
Estimates come after The Telegraph revealed it was TalkTV he fears he will be hit by an advertising boycott similar to the response that hit rival television station GB News when some of the world’s biggest brands stopped their campaigns due to pressure from Stop Funding Hate, the left-wing social media campaign group.
News UK, owner of TalkTV in addition to the Sun and Times, had two video conferences with advertisers to present the channel’s approach before launch.
Mr Morgan told advertisers that he had been lured back into Murdoch’s media empire because “this organization understood what freedom of speech actually means”.
But although he said the channel’s goal was to “support the great pillar of democracy”, he agreed that there will be some limitations to what he can say.
“Of course there are limitations and we know where those lines are,” he said. “I would assure this special audience that you won’t be able to tuck us into any right or left wing.”
