And some cyber warriors with the prime minister and defense minister in sight could even be here, Whitehall sources fear.
“It comes when a Russian spy claims Putin is so angry at the UK’s support Ukraine he ordered plans to be drawn up for “revenge” against the RAF or the navy.
Foreign Minister Liz Truss he said: “We cannot allow the Kremlin and its shadow troll farms to invade our online spaces with their lies about Putin’s illegal war.
“We will work with allies and media platforms to undermine Russian information operations.”
Culture Minister Nadine Dorries said Putin was trying to “deceive the world about the brutality he is inflicting on the people of Ukraine”.
The unit, known as Cyber Front Z, is based in St. Petersburg, but recruits Putin’s loyalists abroad to bomb politicians and websites with fake news.
He suspects he is linked to Putin’s counterpart Yevgeny Prigogine, the founder of an Internet research agency that interfered in the 2016 US election.
Meanwhile, he is terrified of drawing attention to attacks on UK military targets led by RussiaSecret services said: “On Putin’s orders, the revenge operation is in its final stages.”
He shared his fears with the escape from the FSB of Boris Karpichkov, who is hiding in Britain, and said Putin was bizarrely blaming Britain for the loss of his esteemed 11,500-ton master ship Moscow in the Black Sea.
He claimed that Putin wanted revenge to strike at naval ships, and that RAF units and naval bases were also in the firing line.
Karpickov said: “These are serious threats and extremely serious.”
