Jordan Spieth partners will be Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy in the first two rounds of the U.S. PGA Championship as he competes to complete a career grand slam tournament.
Spieth has to lift the Wanamaker Trophy to become just the sixth player to win all four major titles behind Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Ben Hogan and Gene Sarazen.
The former world number one will start his campaign at 14.11 on Thursday in the Southern Hills, where Woods won his 13th big title when he last hosted the American PGA on the track in 2007.
The second high-profile group sees the three best players in the world and holders of the other three major titles of the game play together, with Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm and Collin Morikawa playing on Thursday at 7:36 p.m.
Scheffler’s victory at the Masters was his fourth in 57 days, a brilliant form that led him to revamp US Open champion Rahma at the top of the rankings.
Morikawa won his first major title at the U.S. PGA 2020 in Harding Park and won the Open Championship at Royal St George’s last year.
