Sophia Makki, director of incidents at UKHSA, warned on Tuesday that the agency expects cases to “continue to rise in the coming days and weeks” in the UK, where 1,076 cases have now been detected.

London is the epicenter with 79 per cent of cases where housing data are known, while the average age is 36 years.

“If you attend big events in the summer or have sex with new partners, pay attention to all the symptoms of monkey goats so you can get tested quickly and prevent the transmission of the infection,” said Dr. Makki.
