“He looked shocked, to say the least,” the source said.

That Miss Hall resorted to such aggressive tactics to move the divorce forward may be an indication of how upset she is about her actions. Reports claim that billionaire Mr. Murdoch ended their six-year marriage in an email to Miss Hall, 66.
Sources said she was ‘devastated’ by the break-up and believes Mr. Murdoch resented her during the pandemic when she left him in isolation to prevent him from contracting covid. It is claimed this has caused tension with his children, who allegedly ‘don’t trust’ her and accuse her of not allowing them to see him.
The former model filed for divorce on July 1 in Los Angeles, citing “irreconcilable differences.” She is said to have signed a prenuptial agreement, but Miss Hall’s lawyers say she was unaware of the full nature and scope of it all [Murdoch’s] assets and liabilities and will amend this petition once the information is verified.
A day after Miss Hall filed for divorce, Mr Murdoch was photographed spending time with his family outside St. Mary’s in Westwell, Oxfordshire at the wedding of granddaughter Charlotte and Luke Storey.
Mr Murdoch was served with divorce papers the following Monday morning.

Nick Goldstone, head of dispute resolution at international law firm Ince, said the fact that Mr Murdoch was served in person showed that “the recipient did not expect service or that the server expected some degree of avoidance”.
He added: ‘Until service is made, the proceedings cannot proceed. This can be a complex exercise, especially if the target is an international traveler and you want to serve them within the jurisdiction. Catching them when they’re on the spot can be crucial.”
He said the move suggested Miss Hall wanted to “move forward with the divorce as soon as possible”.
Mark Stephens CBE, of London law firm Howard Kennedy, said it appeared to be a “well-executed” paperwork and that serving Mr Murdoch personally was a way to “speed things up”.
He added: “I suspect so [Murdoch] his lawyers will have had the opportunity to accept service, but they have not. Maybe it was done to say, you’re not going to get away with it for nothing.”

The celebrations turned sour for the 91-year-old media tycoon after Miss Hall’s divorce lawyers took the opportunity to serve him with legal papers.
Mr Stephens said the fact that Miss Hall filed for divorce in California – they were married in London – was significant because it was community property, meaning any property acquired during the marriage was divided by default 50/50.
Among the documents that could be published are the financial disclosures that Mr. Murdoch gave Miss Hall for their prenup.
Mr Stephens added: “It’s a case that doesn’t need to go to trial. He’s rich enough to pay what’s required. It’s wise not to get dressed up in the papers – just come and solve the case.”
Mr Murdoch declined to comment, while Miss Hall and her legal team did not respond to queries.
