Jerry Hall last night asked judges to dismiss her divorce action against Rupert Murdochcan reveal the Daily Mail.
The former supermodel asked Los Angeles The High Court will set aside the divorce petition she filed just five weeks ago, meaning the case appears to be at an end.
The notice was filed by Miss Hall’s California of lawyer Ronald Brot and was dated Tuesday, August 9. The document says that divorce should be set aside without prejudice, which means it can be revived.
It was not clear last night why Miss Hall resigned or whether the couple had agreed to an out-of-court settlement. The Mail has contacted both parties for comment.
The couple had been together for six years when their split was reported in June. Last weekend, the newspaper claimed the 91-year-old media tycoon ended their marriage through an email Miss Hall, 66, allegedly received while she was waiting for him to arrive in the UK.

Miss Hall responded by filing for divorce on July 1 in Los Angeles, rather than in Britain, where they married. Her next move was even more aggressive, hiring a former counter-terrorism officer to serve divorce papers on Mr Murdoch at RAF Brize Norton on July 4 after he attended his granddaughter’s upcoming wedding.
If Miss Hall’s request is granted, it would ensure that Mr Murdoch does not have to go through a bitter and public battle that could expose his finances to the world.

In the original petition, she said she did not have all of his financial information and was looking for it.
Filing for divorce in California is important because it is a community property state, meaning that all property acquired during the marriage is split 50/50 by default.
The couple bought a doer-upper in the Cotswolds as one of their new homes, despite it costing them a staggering £30 million. The sprawling grounds at Great Tew had been uninhabitable for many years and a painstaking renovation included the installation of a new domed roof.
Mr Murdoch had 30 days to respond to the petition, a date which expired when Miss Hall applied for dismissal. Over the weekend, legal experts urged Mr Murdoch to settle the divorce.
Mark Stephens, of London law firm Howard Kennedy, said: “This is a case that doesn’t need to go to trial. It’s wise not to fill the pages of the newspaper but just get down to business and get the case done.”
