Keira Walsh: Barcelona have agreed a world record fee for the Manchester City and England midfielder

Barcelona have agreed a world record deal with Manchester City for England midfielder Keir Walsh.

The fee, which is expected to be at least £350,000, is the highest in the history of women’s football.

There has been mild speculation over the potential fee, with some sources suggesting the deal will be worth more than £350,000 long-term.

The previous world record was reportedly Pernille Harder’s £300,000 move from Wolfsburg to Chelsea in September 2020.

However, US trades include allocation fees and trading funds, so final fees are not disclosed.

Walsh, 25, is now free to discuss terms and arrange a medical with the club.

Man City have been reluctant to agree to sell Walsh, who was the star of England’s Euro campaign after rejecting a number of offers from Barcelona this summer.

Walsh is in the final year of her contract and is said to be keen on the move.

The deal must be completed by the Spanish deadline for foreign deals on Wednesday at 11pm BST.
