Former president Donald Trump claimed on Wednesday that the majority of agents at the federal law enforcement agency he regularly accuses of being biased against him nevertheless cast their votes for him in the 2020 election.
I’m talking about the Fox News host Sean HannityOn the evening program of the same name, Mr. Trump was asked whether he would release surveillance footage of the Aug. 8 search of his home and office in Palm Beach, Florida. FBI representatives.
Mr Trump previously said he had been asked not to release the tapes publicly out of concern for the agents’ safety, and told the Fox host he “didn’t want anyone to get hurt” by releasing the tape against advice.
But he added that he believed “most people in the FBI” — outside of the “top groups” — “probably voted for Trump.”
In the weeks following the search of his home, right-wing media outlets repeated Mr. Trump’s claim that regular agents largely supported him.
At first, many prominent Republicans said the investigation was evidence that the FBI should be disbanded or disbanded, but after criticism, many revised their opinions and have since stated that they believe only the top echelons of the agency are being politicized.
