Ladies Laura Kenny suffered a horrific high-speed crash in Paris last night as her dream of an eighth world title ended in tears.
Kenny was on the penultimate lap of the 120 lap Madison when she collided with New Zealand’s Michaela Drummond, sending both flying.
The five-time Olympic gold medalist lay motionless as doctors rushed to her aid. After a few minutes, the 30-year-old was helped off the track.

It was a dramatic end to an exciting race, won by Belgium’s Lotte Kopecky and Shari Bossuyt, who edged out the hosts from France by a point.
Kenny and her partner Neah Evans were lying in fourth place when the crash happened. They ended up taking fifth place, and Denmark won the bronze.
But the British came through as Ethan Hayter successfully defended his omnium world title while Josie Knight won bronze in the women’s individual pursuit.
