Health Shots contacted Dr. Chaitali Deshmukh, an Ayurvedic consultant with an MD in Ayurveda, to gain some valuable insights into hair care according to this ancient medical system. “According to Ayurveda, the quality of your bone tissue is directly related to hair loss. Hair loss is a common side effect of bone loss,” says Dr. Deshmukh. Several factors can cause hair loss, including:

* Late nights and long hours are part of a fickle and irregular lifestyle.
* Environmental elements include climate change and pollution
* Stress, lack of rest and anxiety

These elements can cause excessive accumulation of toxins in the body.

Here are some Ayurvedic remedies for hair regrowth

1. Shirodhara

“Shiro” and “Dhara” mean head and flow respectively. In this therapy, your head is massaged and warm oils are poured over it. “Shirodhara promotes increased blood flow and hair growth. It is among the best Ayurvedic remedies for hair loss,” says an Ayurvedic expert.

2. Shiro Abhyanga

Dr Deshmukh explains that in this treatment, the head is massaged with oils such as Neelibhringadi Thailam (Ayurvedic anti-hair loss oil), coconut and to the oil (sesame seeds). This is done to hydrate the scalp and roots. In addition to nourishing your senses, it will help prevent scalp heat and hair aging. In addition, it strengthens nerve endings and helps hair follicles. 3. Shirolepa hair wrap

5. Hair cleaners

An Ayurvedic consultant suggests some of these natural cleansers that may also be helpful:

1. Shikakai: By using this all-natural cleanser, you can get rid of excess oil from your scalp. Use this along with Reetha (soap similar to Shikakai), Amla and Hibiscus if your hair is already frizzy and dry.
2. Aloe vera: Apply some new gel to your scalp, leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse it off. It is a cool and pleasant scalp cleanser that is useful for hot hair accompanied by redness, irritation, rashes or pimples on the scalp.
3. Amla or Indian Gooseberry: This can be used with tea, Reetha or Shikakai or as a paste or mixture.
