Cristiano Ronaldo claimed that he has no “respect” for Erik ten Hag in an extraordinary attack on the Manchester United manager, accusing the club of betraying him and trying to oust him.

In a great interview with Piers Morgan for TalkTVRonaldo blew the lid off his fractious relationship with United and directed a volley of abuse at The Hague that will almost certainly spell the end of his time at the club.

The Ten Hag dropped Ronaldo from United’s squad for their game at Chelsea last month after the five-time World Player of the Year refused to feature as substitution against Tottenham at Old Trafford.

And now the 37-year-old has revealed his true feelings for the United boss, who took over at Old Trafford in May, in an explosive outburst that is likely to have far-reaching consequences.

“I don’t respect him because he doesn’t show me respect,” Ronaldo said. “If you don’t respect me, I will never respect you.”

Manchester United have been approached for comment.
