The World Cup 2022 is coming to a close as 32 nations kick off on November 20 to lift the Jules Rimet Trophy in Doha on December 18.
Despite the many off-field issues surrounding the tournament in Qatar, the group stage provided plenty of excitement and spill, with Argentina lost to Saudi Arabia recorded as one of the biggest shocks of any World Cup in history. Japan also stunned Germanywhile Spain and England scored in their opening wins.
The drama continued in the elimination matches as well Morocco surprised Spain in the round of 16 and then made history by defeating Portugal to become the first African national team to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup, while Croatia eliminated tournament favorites Brazil in the quarterfinals.
There are only a handful of teams left in Qatar, as the semi-finals will be held before the final itself on Sunday, December 18.
