Note: Before we get into the exercises, let’s make it clear that spot reduction is a myth! You cannot lose weight in a certain part of the body. Exercise for fat loss can help you gain muscle mass and strength, boost your metabolism, and result in overall fat reduction. So, make your goal clear.

Here are 5 indoor exercises for weight loss:

1. Skipping

Jumping rope can get you motivated to exercise when you feel unmotivated in the winter. Start jumping rope every day for 5 minutes. Gradually increase to 10, 15 and finally 20 minutes a day. Skipping at home is a great exercise for burning calories and losing weight, says Sinha. Because it works virtually every muscle in your body, it’s actually a full-body workout. the result? Big weight loss! So include a jump rope in your home workout.

2. Burpees

Burpees are the ultimate fat and calorie burner. Not only does it target your entire body and all major muscle groups, but it can also help increase your body’s stamina or endurance. It’s actually more effective than running outside. Sinha says, “You can do this exercise on the floor with ease and for just 15-20 minutes to see results in terms of weight loss. It’s a great cardio workout that also tones and strengthens the muscles.”

3. Alpinists

If you want a flat stomach, you need to include climbers in your fitness routine. Think of the floor as a mountain, take a plank position and run your hands straight in front of you on the floor. Although it may seem simple, it gets your heart rate up and burns calories. This exercise targets the shoulders, arms, chest and legs in addition to the abs. Start slow with this exercise and then pick up the pace a bit to strengthen your core, develop your upper body and even increase your flexibility.

4. Jump squats
