King Charles coronation guest list: Who’s who of everyone who will attend

While both the government and the royal household are determined to stage a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle of “magnificent” pomp and pageantry, the coronation will be smaller in scale than that of Queen Elizabeth.

In 1953, 800 MPs and 910 colleagues were invited to the coronation of the late Queen. But there will be no scaffolding for such a number at Westminster Abbey this time around, meaning space is much more limited.

Meanwhile, the Coronation Claims Office revealed 13 individuals and organizations that will play important historical ceremonial roles at the ceremony from the bearer of the golden spur to the bearer of the silver baton.

Foreign heads of state

Heads of state and representatives from many of Britain’s key allies and Commonwealth countries are expected to attend the ceremony.

They are among the confirmed ones Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canadaand Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister of Australia.

Andrzej Duda, Poland’s president, was also the first head of state to be confirmed as attending the event earlier this year.

During a visit to PolandPrince William said he was very much looking forward to seeing President Duda and the First Lady at the coronation and thanked him for attending the late Queen’s funeral last September.

In the meantime, all three EU presidents will also be there – Ursula von der Leyen, Roberta Metsola and Charles Michel.

However, there is a growing push for republicanism in some countries where the king is still sovereign, particularly in the Caribbean, so it remains to be seen whether all will send representatives to the coronation.
