Speaking about the announcement, Ms Young said: “I am delighted to be part of the BBC’s coverage of the Coronation as our cameras capture history in the making. Ceremony, spectacle and true royal celebration – it has all the ingredients of a weekend worth seeing.”
Mr Edwards said: “Few broadcasters have the privilege of being involved in the coronation and I am delighted to be involved. People will be relying on the BBC to cover what promises to be an unforgettable weekend.”
Meanwhile, Dame Joanna Lumley will join Sky News to report on coronation.
An absolutely gorgeous actresswho commented on Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee for Sky News last year, will attend the service on Westminster Abbey in May as a guest of the King and Queen.
Dame Joanna, 76, will then join the Coronation station, which includes royal commentator Alastair Bruce and presenters Kay Burley and Anna Botting.
The BBC’s program will also include JJ Chalmers, presenter and ex-Royal Marine, speaking to members of the military as they prepare for one of the biggest parades in living history.
Mr. Chalmers was seriously injured in an IED blast while serving in Helmand Province, Afghanistan in May 2011. He suffered facial injuries, lost two fingers and severely injured his right elbow.
The former marine, who attended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding, previously said he would be “eternally grateful” to the prince for the role he played in his recovery, describing him as “one of the key people who created one key catalysts in my recovery”.
