The Prince of Wales paid a touching price public tribute to his father at the coronation concertsaying, “Dad, we are all so proud of you.”
The prince gave the speech to a crowd of 20,000 revelers at the star-studded event at Windsor Castle, where the royal family gathered en masse to watch singers such as Katy Perry and Lionel Richie.
He praised Royal Decades of Servicecampaign on green issues and its celebration of diversity.
He also made a sweet reference to his late grandmother Queen Elizabeth, saying: “I know she’s up there watching over us gently.”

Good evening, your majesties. Good evening Windsor!
Thank you all so much for making it such a special evening.
I want to say a few words about my father and why I think this weekend is so important.
But don’t worry, unlike Lionel I won’t keep going all night.
As my grandmother said when she was crowned, coronations are a statement of our hopes for the future.
And I know he is up there watching over us tenderly. And I would be a very proud mother.
Although the celebrations are grand, at the heart of the play is a simple message: service.
My father’s first words on entering Westminster Abbey yesterday were a pledge of service.
It was a promise that I would continue to serve.
Because for more than 50 years, in every corner of the United Kingdom, across the Commonwealth and around the world, it has been dedicated to serving other generations, present and future, and those whose memory we must not neglect.
Take the natural world. He alerted us to the risks to the health of our planet long before it became an everyday issue.
Or the Prince’s Trust. It has supported more than a million young people, many from disadvantaged backgrounds, to realize their ambitions.
And perhaps most importantly, my father always understood that people of all faiths, backgrounds and communities deserve to be celebrated and supported.
Dad, we are all so proud of you.
I also want to express my pride and gratitude for the millions of people who serve in the forces, in classrooms, hospital wards and local communities.
I wish I could mention you all. We are inspired by your services. And tonight we celebrate you too.
I pledge to serve you all. King, State and Commonwealth.
God save the king!
