Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who was pulled from the network last month, said on Tuesday that he will be bringing his show back “soon.”

Fox News Media and its top-rated host agreed to part ways last monthshortly after parent company Fox Corp. settled a $787.5 million defamation lawsuit in which Carlson played a leading role.

The outspoken Carlson has latched onto conservative issues and presented his views with a style that made his premiere show, “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” the highest-rated cable news show in the key 25-54 demographic on the most-watched U.S. cable news network.

The ratings dropped after his departure.

“We’re about to launch a new version of the show we’ve been working on for the last six and a half years on Twitter,” Carlson said in a video posted on Twitter. “We also bring some other things to tell you about. But for now, we’re just grateful to be here.”

Carlson’s announcement comes weeks after the Twitter owner Elon Musk sat down for a two-part interview with Carlson on Fox News.

Musk, who has called himself a “free speech absolutist,” said his goal is to make Twitter a digital town hall where users can share different points of view.

Axios reported that Carlson’s lawyers sent Fox a letter accusing him of fraud and breach of contract.

Carlson’s attorney did not respond to requests for comment. A Fox Corp spokesman declined to comment.
