She is the Princess of Wales sometimes compared to the late Queen Elizabeth II; she is one of the most photographed women in the world, but remains inscrutable.

While she is sometimes shy and introverted, those who know her speak of her steeliness and quiet confidence.

In the recent book Courtiers, journalist Valentine Low reveals that the princess may have been directly involved in the reaction to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

She obviously wrote the line that “memories may differ”which was afterwards added to the late Queen’s answer.

In this episode of Royal Insight, Camilla Tominey explores how the princess became a quiet but powerful influence in the Royal Family.

While she started out in royal life as “William’s plus one”, she has continued her solo career, including her long-term care and addiction causes in her early years.

“Legacy projects aren’t just for Christmas, they’re for life – you have to play the long game,” says Camilla.

“Maybe that’s one of her strengths in all of this is that she’s always seen the importance of playing the long game. I suppose it’s also a privilege to know you’ll be queen one day.’
