Three people are seriously injured after car crashes into British Heart Foundation shop in Chichester

Firefighters had to cut four people from wreckage after a car ploughed into a charity shop.
The car backed in through the front window of the British Heart Foundation shop in Chichester, West Sussex, and carried on through racks of clothes.
Police said three pedestrians suffered serious injuries after the incident just before 12.15pm on Tuesday.
Firefighters using specialist cutting equipment were called out to free people pinned under the Skoda Fabia.
The driver, believed to be an older woman, also suffered serious injuries. All four are being treated in hospital, police said.
North Street was closed all afternoon and a cordon was in place around the charity shop.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said ‘their injuries are believed to be serious but not life-threatening or life-changing at this time.’
The force is appealing for witnesses.

A spokeswoman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘We were called at 12.14pm to reports that a car had collided with a charity shop on North Street in Chichester.
‘Firefighters worked to release one person who was trapped as a result of the incident.
‘There were a number of emergency service vehicles in attendance and people were urged to avoid the area to allow firefighters to work safely.
‘The last fire crew left the scene shortly after 1.30pm.’
