Locking out of the house is one of life’s frustrations, especially when the comfort of home is so close in sight …

But while the man may find himself in search of keys or finding ingenious ways to enter the window, one smart kitten has taken matters into its own paws.

Silvestro, a “super smart” cat, jumped into action when he and his relatives were stuck in front of their front door in Caltanissetta, Sicily, Italy.

The footage shows Silvestro jumping up to grab the front door handle and swinging it down to open the door before coldly walking through it, followed by the rest of the gang.

He then goes through the cold as air, followed by his gang

After pulling the hook down, Silvestro carefully pushes the door open and walks through the cold as air

It is the latest adventure with a cat shared on Tiktok by owner Antonio Bosco, 57, who shares his rural home with his mother and 25 cats.

Mr Bosco said: “We had 24 cats a month ago, and recently the Siamese stray cat was added to our crowd of cats and thus became a 25 strong cat army.

The smart cat Silvestro is also the undisputed leader and protector of our cats.

Occasionally, our neighbors ’cats will try to fight our cats. So Silvestro then intervenes and bounces off them, often returning with bruises or bites. He’s a real hero, so sometimes we’d rather sing than call him by a nickname that’s “Kungu l’eroe” – a mix of King Kong and hero.

‘Silvestro understands when he’s done something special, and he knows they’re going to caress his head even more. I pick it up and rock it like a baby, followed by a treat consisting of chicken turkey sausage.

“He is very attentive and immediately notices if something is wrong with you. Honestly, sometimes he feels like the best friend you can trust.

“Especially my mom talks a lot to our cats, and Silvestro listens and talks back. I doubt they understand each other very well, but communication effort is important! ‘

Despite New Year’s Eve’s militant attitude, Mr Bosco says he is “incredibly kind and kind to us at all times”.

He added: ‘So when I fall asleep and forget to let him out at night, he will hint to me until I wake up and let him go.’

Turns out Silvestro isn’t the only smart cat in the house and one of his friends ‘Youppie Fatass’ – the last cat they saw in the video – has a habit of peeing in a normal toilet.

Mr. Bosco’s recordings have earned him 3.5 million likes on TikTok, where he has 87,000 followers.

In November last year, a software engineer discovered he had become a viral sensation after sharing a video of his cats flawlessly rushing through one cat hatch to feed.

Mr Bosco told the media that he had inserted a cat hatch because every time he kept the door open, stray local dogs came running and ate all the cat food.

The cat fan has two kitchens and keeps one specifically for cats. It has a heater for the cold winter months and no less than 14 pillows so they can all be squeezed together.

Mr Bosco told a fan of his video: ‘All cats are domesticated, neutered, [have] a monthly anti-parasite spray and lots of food. ‘

Speaking about his beloved cats, Mr Bosco added: They are all my pets. Not only do they stay outside most of the day, but they also sleep indoors where we provide them with a heater to keep them warm in the winter.

“Besides, we let them in from time to time, but they usually prefer to stay outdoors because we’re usually outside and doing something in the garden.

‘Wherever we go, they always follow us.’
